"My dearest Nellie, I hope you have commenced the new year with the determination of being a little better girl as if such a thing is possible, than you were during the year
just gone out of business. It would have been a great pleasure if I could have spent the holidays with you who I love so dearly. The citizens here gave me a very large reception & ball on the evening of December 28th in honor of my return . It was attended by all the leading families in this part of Cuba, It was the grandest entertainment given since we came to Cuba. The people here regardless of their political views have the warmest and kindest feelings for me, which feelings I highly appreciate as I have always tried to be just to all persons, who I have had any dealings with. Warren has been presented with a ten pound
daughter, she is a beauty & I am proud in being a grandfather, such honor being forced upon me, without any solicitation on my part. Mother and baby are in excellent condition. Warren is delighted over this event but a little disappointed that it was not a boy. With much to you all & best wishes for a very prosperous & happy new year,
Affectionately

This of course was terribly traumatic for the family and I can personally remember hearing a lot of talk about the accident.
Minnie had graduated with a B. A. in French. Her middle name came from a friend of her mothers.
The Simcoe Reformer front page August 1, 1929: Minnie Heath, Delhi girl killed in car accident. Friends of Miss Minnie Heath of Delhi who attended Simcoe High School here for some will be shocked to hear of her death that occurred as a result of a motor accident last night. Additional particulars are not forthcoming other than the car in which she was riding on the highway between Caledonia and Hamilton crashed into a ditch. The late Miss Heath who was in her 26th year is very well known here and leaves beside her parents Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Heath of Delhi, one twin sister miss Nellie Heath and A brother Harold Heath of Windsor.
Miss Heath had just this year graduated this year in Arts from McMaster University and the news of her untimely death will come as a great shock to her many friends in Simcoe. She was a niece of Mrs. Mary Whitside of Simcoe.

OBITUARY:
Great gloom spread over the community when a young girl, 22 years of age, Minnie Lazelle Heath. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Heath of Delhi was a victim of a tragic accident on the Caledonia Highway on Wednesday evening, July 31st. Miss Heath was returning with her family from a holiday at Muskoka Lakes and was hit by an approaching motorist 9 miles from Hamilton. The girl seated with her sister and brother was hurled through the windshield and died upon reaching St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton.
Minnie affectionally and widely known at Mc Master University from which she graduated in the year 1928 was equally popular in outside circles in Toronto. This year having successfully completed at the Course of Education she was contemplating teaching in the fall but tragedy intervened and in a brief hour left a host of sorrowing friends.
The funeral was held Monday August 5th, from The Cedars the home of her parents in Delhi. The service was conducted by Rev. W. F. Speidel of Caledonia, assisted by J. F. Dingman of Dresden and Rev. Earl Dale of New Hamburg. Dr. A. L. McCrimmon of McMaster University brought a message of sympathy and comfort speaking in glowing terms of the promising young life and impressed the thought that the development of her life was not ended but she is entering a larger sphere of service and greater achievement.
The Villa Nova quartette rendered a timely selection and Mrs. J. P. Dingman of Dresden sang No Night There.
The pall bearers were college friends namely, Kenneth Chute, Wayman Roberts, Alex Bradshaw, Howard Alles, Clifford Mason and Clifford Howard.
The floral tributes were very beautiful and were handled by Lawrence Chute, Mert Fraser and Gordon Kent and were born to the cars by 6 college mates, etc.

"President and Mrs. Howard L. Bevis announce the marriage of their cousin, Miss Emma Carolyn Andrew to Mr. Harold Heath of Delhi, Ontario, Canada on Saturday the 20th of April. The wedding was solemnized at 4 o'clock in the stately drawing room of the President's residence on the campus of Ohio State University at Columbus, Ohio.
To the strains of violins, cellos and piano trio the brides attendants led the way down the wide staircase to the candle lit bower of palms, ferns and lilies where Reverend Wilbur H. Fowler of Cincinnati, Ohio, joined in the holy bonds of matrimony, the American-born bride and the Canadian groom whose romance began in the eternal city, Rome, Italy some years ago.
The gown of shimmering white and long veil of spanish lace, had been in the family of Mrs. Francis J. Flagg of Boston Massachusetts, enhanced the brunette beauty of the bride. The Maid of Honor the bride's sister, Miss Margaret Andrew of Dayton, Ohio, was a striking figure in a gown of Madonna blue, which contrasted most effectively, with her gorgeous copper coloured hair. The bridesmaids in empire gowns, of spring colours, yellow, coral, turquoise and apricot, Miss Mary Ewing of Dayton, Ohio, Miss Eleanor Collins of Newton Highlands, Massachusetts, a classmate of the bride at Harvard Graduate School of Education, and Miss Marry Etta Andrew, the bride's niece a sophomore at Ohio State University.
Mr. Gordon Kent of Delhi, Ontario who was traveling in Europe with Mr. Heath at the time he met the young lady who was destined to be his wife was most naturally chosen to be the best man.
The Ushers were Mr. Kenneth Chute of Toronto, the husband of the groom's sister, Mr. William T. Smith of Delhi, Ontario and Dr. Louis Smith of Simcoe, Ontario, classmates of the groom and Mr. Murray Bevis a cousin of the bride.
The dainty little flower girl who won all hearts as she scattered rose petals was tiny Joan Chute or Toronto, only niece of the room.
Among the Canadian guests who came to witness the bond of Union between the Dominion and the United States was the father of the groom, Mr. E. D. Heath of Delhi, Ontario, Mrs. W. G. Smith also of Delhi, the groom's cousin and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Read of Brantford.
This wedding brings together groups whose scholastic connection are not only scattered throughout the colleges of Canada and the United States but even extend to the University of Mexico and the School of International Studies at Geneva, Switzerland, where the bride was formerly enrolled.
The former Miss Andrew was for a time a teacher in the public schools of Cincinnati, Ohio, later she lectured extensively in New England and more recently she has been District Supervisor in the Ohio Valley for the Curtis Publishing Company.
