Born in Ontario,
CEN: 1861 Census shows as 13 yrs old, laborer, living with John
(Farmer) and Ann Markle, District #2 Windham Township. On his
own or summer and working for school vacation. No further records.
One of the sons I believe went to the Oxford County area. To be
researched.
B: Family History Library Number 976877 dates 1875-1875 shows
birth of Henry Whitside in Burtchville, St. Clair Michigan and
recorded same. Father John Whitside, Mother Henrietta Whitside.
This could be this John as his brother George went to Clare Michigan
with the railway.. St. Clair is the county directly west of Sarnia/Port
Huron on the Railway line. I will put John and son Henry in but
so far there is no proof.

Research to data leads me to believe that this is a member of the Whiteside clan and not a Whitside.
